Do you pay a deposit with DFS?
Our interest free credit options can help you spread the cost with affordable pay monthly payments on sofas, beds and furniture from DFS. There's no catch – no set up fee, no deposit required, and interest free repayments.
You can choose to pay the full balance when placing the order or a 10% deposit and the balance 3 days prior to your booked delivery date (this only applies to our made to order upholstery items).
We give you the flexibility of having a totally interest free loan over 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 or 36 months. If you would prefer not to take up the interest free credit offer then you can pay by cash, debit or credit card. Simply leave a small 10% deposit and pay the balance prior to delivery.
However, as a very rough guide, you can usually expect to have a decision within 48 hours of applying, although it can take up to a maximum of 5 working days. A member of our team will contact you if there is any additional information we require for your credit check.
We have a wide selection of items which can be delivered free of charge. Other larger items will have a delivery charge applied when you check out, in most cases, this will be £99 depending on the items you are looking at and your location. Please note for some more remote locations this may be higher.
DFS use external finance companies so please call them directly to discuss your settlement figure or for any queries regarding payments. The finance company we use is Creation Consumer Finance 0871 664 6500.

No problem! If interest free credit isn't for you, you can also pay for your DFS order with cash, debit or credit card - simply leave a 10% deposit when you place your order, and pay the balance prior to delivery.
Payments can be made through the Track My Order facility on the website. Just provide your surname and order number to log in and access the payment screen.

Do DFS do a credit check?
However, as with all finance agreements, when you complete the full application for an interest free credit plan, the sofa finance provider will then perform a hard credit check, which will show up on your credit report, and can affect your credit score - whether your application is approved or not.
If you have provided a mobile phone number with your order then you will receive a text message to advise that your credit application has been accepted. This can take up to five working days depending on the finance company and the complexity of the application.
What credit score do you need for furniture financing? There's no specific score required for furniture financing. Both a 0% APR credit card and a personal loan, for instance, may require a good to excellent credit score, of 670 or above. Financing through the store may be available if your credit score is fair.
Our sofas are handmade to order, so the lead time varies depending on the range that you have chosen.
Our delivery charges vary depending on what you are ordering. We have a wide selection of items which can be delivered free of charge. Other larger items will have a delivery charge applied when you check out, this will go from £49 or £99 (further delivery charges may apply depending on delivery location).
While many of our sofas are made to order, a selection of our most popular styles are in stock and ready to ship, meaning they can arrive in as little as 7 days. New models are being added to our selection of quick delivery sofas all the time, and include corner sofas, sofa beds, leather sofas and even recliners.

You may return merchandise bought at any DFS store for a full refund or exchange within 90 days of purchase with a receipt. Unfortunately, we cannot exchange or refund items purchases on sale, or any merchandise that concerns personal hygiene (e.g. underwear, swimwear, etc.).
